A strike team of six Pasadena firefighters returned home Sunday after spending nine days helping get control of the Moc Fire on the Tuolumne County-Mariposa County border, as well as the Dolan Fire burning near Big Sur, officials said.

Pasadena Fire Department Engine 36, along with two battalion chiefs, headed to the Moc Fire Aug. 21, according to city spokeswoman Lisa Derderian.

As conditions improved at the 2,800-acre fire, the strike team turned their attention to the Dolan Fire, which has consumed more than 27,900 acres near Big Sur, according to Cal Fire and U.S. Forest Service officials.

Authorities declared the Moc Fire fully contained on Sunday. The Dolan Fire was 25% contained.
