On Saturday, October 24, Pasadena Humane surprised 10 new pet parents with fee-waived adoptions thanks to a grant from the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) and Subaru Loves Pets. Two dogs and eight cats were adopted as part of the event. Adopters also received a welcome home gift bag courtesy of local Subaru dealer Sierra Subaru of Monrovia.

“The pandemic has been emotionally and financially challenging for many of us,” said Dia DuVernet, President & CEO of Pasadena Humane. “We are grateful for the ASPCA and Subaru Loves Pets for giving us the chance to bring some additional joy to 10 families by waiving their adoption fees.”

Adopted pets include Thor, a 5-year-old lab, and 11-week-old sibling kittens Teddy and Tiger. One of the sweetest adoptions of the day was Triana, a 4-month-old kitten with only three legs. Triana’s adopter had been looking for his “purr-fect” match for months before finding this adorable tripod kitty.

All dogs and cats adopted from Pasadena Humane are spayed/neutered, microchipped and have received age-appropriate vaccines. Adopters also receive a discount at the organization’s pet supply store, as well as a voucher for a free wellness exam at a participating veterinarian.

Pasadena Humane is now offering adoptions by virtual appointment. To view adoptable pets online and learn more about the adoption process, visit pasadenahumane.org.
