Pasadena Man Arrested After Allegedly Firing Gunshots Into the Sky

A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and other charges after he allegedly fired three shots into the air in Pasadena on Sunday, May 29.

The incident occurred at 5:49 p.m. on West Hammond Street near North Fair Oaks Ave.

According to Lt .Tim Bundy , officers responded to the area after receiving a ShotSpotter alert and several calls about gunfire. Upon arrival, officers found expended shell casings that confirmed the shooting had occurred.

A handgun was also recovered in the area, Bundy said. No injuries were reported in the shooting.

The suspect, identified as Pasadena resident Preston Lee, 28, was arrested without incident.

Lee was booked into the Pasadena City Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, and parole violation.

He is currently being held without bail, according online Los Angeles County booking records.
