A Pasadena man is in custody for allegedly eluding authorities in a brief chase early Saturday morning, police said.
At about 1 a.m., a Pasadena Police Department officer tried to pull over a 2007 red Toyota Tundra pickup truck that was driving aggressively and following another car too closely, said PPD Lt. Chris Russ in a telephone interview. The driver, identified by police as 34-year-old Scott Thomas, sped away in his pickup truck instead of stopping for authorities, Russ said.
The chase began at Lincoln Avenue and continued westbound onto the 210 freeway, and lasted about two minutes, Russ said. The chase ended when Thomas attempted to take the Berkshire Avenue exit and instead crashed his truck, Russ said. Thomas was taken into custody without further incident and is being held for alleged felony evading, Russ said.
