A panhandler hit a man over the head with a skateboard after the victim refused to give him money at a Pasadena restaurant on Sunday afternoon, police said.
The attack took place about 1:20 p.m. outside of Chipotle, 3409 E. Foothill Blvd., according to Pasadena police Lt. Pete Hettema.
A 52-year-old Pasadena man went to the restaurant to order food and was repeatedly asked for money by the suspect, described as a younger man, the lieutenant said. The business patron ignored the panhandler’s requests.
As the victim exited the store, the younger man struck him over the head with a skateboard and fled, Hettema said.
The victim did not wish to be taken to a hospital.
A detailed description of the attacker was not available.
