Pasadena non-profit Lagerlof Cares donated $15,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of Pasadena after hosting their inaugural golf tournament fundraising event.

Lagerlof Cares partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of Pasadena to support local young people. The nonprofit said it is committed to helping build a stronger, and more connected community by investing in local nonprofit programs dedicated to serving local youth and families.

“We are so pleased to be able to support the Pasadena Boys and Girls Club,” Joshua Driskell, Managing Partner of Lagerlof, LLP, shared. “The work that this group is doing absolutely has a positive impact on Pasadena and its youth.”

The funds raised will be used to support the Boys and Girls Club in their continued efforts in serving Pasadena youth through the variety of services that they offer. This includes supporting transportation, replenishing equipment like sports equipment, school supplies and other necessary supplies. Lastly, the funds will provide tutoring for students.

The golf tournament included 9 holes of golf, games, and a reception.

At the reception the Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena CEO Lisa Cavelier shared what a typical day at the Club looks like and how what they do impacts the lives of youth in the Pasadena community. Attendees were able to hear from two youth who attend the Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena and hear how the Club has made a difference in their lives.

Isabela Cruz, a thirteen-year-old teen who has attended the Club for eight years, shared, “The Club has taught me a lot, it’s taught me how to make friends and how to grow as a human being. I’ve been there forever and the Club is full of love. You can tell the staff there, they really care about you. It’s really fun there, and I’ve learned so much there. I’ve learned some of my favorite sports and I’ve made some of my best friends there.”

This was Lagerlof Cares’ first fundraising event. The nonprofit plans on making this golf tournament fundraiser an annual event to continue supporting organizations that serve local Pasadena youth.

Lagerlof Cares is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and is the charitable extension of Lagerlof, LLP, which said it is the largest law firm in Pasadena.
