Pasadena Police Department Hosts Innovative Recruitment Expo to Address Staffing Shortages

Amid nationwide challenges in recruiting and retaining law enforcement personnel, the Pasadena Police Department is taking a proactive approach with its Recruitment & Hiring Expo on May 4th, calling it a “May the 4th Be With You” event.

The event seeks to address staffing shortages and bolster the department’s ranks with qualified and committed individuals by providing a platform for potential candidates to engage with departmental representatives and learn about entry-level positions.

Situated outdoors in front of the Pasadena Police Department at 207 N. Garfield Avenue, the Expo will give attendees a firsthand glimpse into the department’s operations. They will be able to explore static displays featuring police vehicles and equipment and even witness a helicopter landing.

Sworn police officers and professional staff will be on hand to engage with prospective candidates, discussing the responsibilities, qualifications, and expectations associated with various entry-level positions within the department.

Attendees will also have the chance to learn about promotion opportunities from front-line personnel.

The Police Department said their goal in this recruitment effort is to create an inclusive and interactive environment where individuals interested in law enforcement can gain valuable insights and forge meaningful connections with the department and its personnel.
