A Pasadena police motorcycle officer was seriously injured in a traffic collision with a red 2021 Hyundai Sonata sedan on E. Colorado Boulevard at Oak Avenue at 3:18 p.m. Friday, a city official said.
The unidentified officer was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, Pasadena spokesperson Lisa Derderian said.
The driver of the sedan was not injured in the crash, remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
Police Lt. Marcia Taglioretti said in a statement that, preliminarily, it appears that the motor officer collided with the Hyundai as the driver of the Hyundai was attempting to make a left turn onto Colorado Blvd. from Oak Ave.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has information regarding the incident is encouraged to call the Traffic Section Lieutenant Sam de Sylva at (626) 744-7415 or the Watch Commander at (626) 744-4620.
