Extra police officers will be patroling Pasadena this weekend in search of intoxicated drivers, officials said.
The anti-DUI patrol efforts will take place throughout the city on Friday and Saturday, the Pasadena Police Department said in a written statement.
Officers will be on the lookout for drivers impaired by alcohol or drugs, including marijuana and prescription drugs or over-the-counter medications that impair driving ability, officials said.
“If you plan on drinking or taking medications that may impact your ability to drive safely, plan on staying at home,” according to the statement.
Funding for the campaign is being provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
