Pasadena Public Library opened for curbside pickup May 12th and now, due to demand have expanded curbside pickup service hours at Central Library. The Library now offers curbside pickup service Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 5 p.m. in the library parking lot at 285 E. Walnut St.

Curbside service is also available at seven branch libraries: Allendale, Hastings, La Pintoresca, Lamanda Park, Linda Vista, San Rafael, and Santa Catalina. Hours for each location are posted on our website https://www.cityofpasadena.net/library/branches/ or may be found by calling (626) 744-4066.

Library patrons are able to pick up previously reserved materials they had placed on hold. Patrons are contacted individually via email or phone when their reserved materials are ready for pickup, and then provided instructions as to when and where to pick them up. Upon arrival at the designated library site, patrons are directed to either phone or text library staff to alert them to their arrival. Using appropriate protective equipment, including masks and gloves, library staff then place the reserved materials on a table and step back, allowing the patron to step out and pick up the materials. Materials can also be returned in the nearby library book drops.

The curbside pickup program is just for library holds. Patrons may reserve library materials for curbside pickup online at pasadenapubliclibrary.net using their Pasadena Public Library card number.

Numerous library materials are also available virtually, and staff are providing reference service via phone and email. Contact library staff by phone at (626) 744-4066, option 7 or email at ask@cityofpasadena.email.libanswers.com.

All Pasadena Public Library buildings remain closed to the public until further notice.

“This closure is a precautionary measure to protect our community members from novel coronavirus (COVID-19). We thank you for your patience and understanding. For more information, call (626) 744-4066.”
