Pasadena Public Library Expands Digital Resources – You Can Learn How to Sing Better, Get Info on Antiques, Even Create Legal Documents

Pasadena Public Library patrons will now be able to access online lessons, digital information guides for antiques and collectibles, and fillable legal documents through the ‘Libby’ app, now in use by millions of readers worldwide.

Libby is a virtual eBook, audiobook, and digital magazine platform that allows users to check out materials with their library card and read them through a web browser or mobile device.

Tim McDonald, Acting Director of Libraries and Information Services in Pasadena, said three new services – Artist Works, Kovels, and LawDepots – are now available to all Pasadena Public Library users through Libby. These new services can be found on the Libby app or www.libby.com under “Extras” after signing in with your active Pasadena Library card.

ArtistWorks provides world-class instruction from Grammy Award-winning music professionals. It contains step-by-step video lessons offering guided instructions for a variety of instruments and voice or singing levels.

Kovels includes over 40 books and 25,000 articles offering expert information on antiques and collectibles that are updated weekly. Library users have access to all Kovels.com articles, identification guides, histories, prices, marks, and how-to guides on buying and selling antiques and collectibles, and the current digital version of the Kovels on Antiques and Collectibles monthly newsletter in PDF format. The newsletter already has 47 years of archives that can also be accessed through Libby.

Law Depot’s extensive library of documents and legal resources provides easy-to-use assistance for a wide range of legal needs. Patrons can create legal documents specific to their situation by just answering simple questions, entering names, dates, and details in a fill-in style interface to complete a printable, legal signature-ready document. 

Additional resources covering the areas of family, business, estate, real estate, and financial law are included. Law Depot is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice, but it does provide information, materials, and software that users are responsible for appropriately using.

Any library user can download the Libby app from the App Store or from Google Play.
