Pasadena Reports 2 COVID-19 Deaths Friday, Pushing Toll to Century Mark

Pasadena reported its 100th COVID-19 death on Friday.

Of the two most recent fatalities, one was a resident of Jasmine Terrace nursing facility and the other was a “community death,” city spokeswoman Lisa Derderian said.

The grim milestone came as the Pasadena Health Department announced seven new detected infections, bringing the total number in the city to 1,460.

Huntington Hospital was treating 54 COVID-19 patients on Friday, according to hospital data.

At the state level, the California Department of Public Health reported 7,798 new infections and 140 new deaths.

California has now seen a total of 304,297 known COVID-19 cases and 6,851 deaths since the start of the pandemic in March.
