A longtime Pasadena resident has taken on a new role heading business banking nationally for Bank of America, the company announced Tuesday.

Raul Anaya serves as the company’s market president for the Greater Los Angeles Area, and previously served as Pacific Southwest Regional Executive for Global Commercial Banking, Bank of America said in a written statement.

“In his new role as President of Business Banking, he leads a nationwide team that serves mid-sized businesses with annual revenues from $5 million to $50 million,” according to the statement.

He will also serve on the executive management team that helps drive the banking giant’s decisions nationwide, the company said.

“He brings 30 years of banking experience to the new role and will report to Tom Montag, the bank’s COO and president of the global banking and markets division,” the statement said.

He will continue to be based out of Los Angeles.

Anaya is co-chair of Bank of America’s Hispanic-Latino Executive Council, “a group of 200 of the company’s most senior Hispanic and Latino executives in the U.S.,” the bank statement said.

He also serves on Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti’s business advisory task force, which is consulting city officials on the city’s reopening process, according to the company. He is the incoming chair of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Angeleno chapter of Young Presidents Organization Gold.
