Pasadena Senior Center Looking for Volunteers for California Senior Games

The Pasadena Senior Center is looking for volunteers of any age to assist in several functions during the California Senior Games Championships, to be held in Pasadena from May 27 to June 26, 2016.

Featuring athletic competitions for older adults in nearly 30 categories, the championships will require volunteers at venues in Pasadena, Arcadia, Burbank, El Monte, Glendale, Long Beach, Los Angeles, San Gabriel, Simi Valley and Van Nuys.

Volunteer positions include registering athletes, providing refreshments, timing, scoring, manning water stations, running to deliver results of foot races and handling medals.

The Pasadena Senior Games is the official California qualifying tournament for the 2017 National Senior Games in Birmingham, Alabama.

The Pasadena Senior Center, located at 85 E. Holly Street in Pasadena,  is an independent, nonprofit agency that offers recreational, educational, wellness and social services to people ages 50 and older in a friendly environment. Services are also provided for frail, low-income and homebound seniors.
