Pasadena to Enjoy Week of Sunny-And-Upper-Sixties As Much of U.S. and the West Face Harsh Winter Weather

In Rose Parade weather-like form, Pasadena is heading into a week of sunny and upper sixties days as the rest of the nation faces a wave of severe weather.

Much of the West Coast experiencing significant snow showers.

Washington and Oregon’s coastal ranges, along with California, Nevada, and Utah, are particularly affected. In the greater Lake Tahoe area, a winter storm warning is in effect, and travel advisories are in place due to worsening conditions

In California, the National Weather Service has issued High Surf Advisories due to breaking waves of 20–25 feet along the coast while northern counties are bracing for heavy snowfall, particularly in the Sierra Nevada and Cascades, and potential power line damage due to freezing rain.

This severe weather is expected to continue into the coming week, with the National Weather Service warning that every state in the U.S. has an active watch, warning, or advisory in place.

But Pasadena is expected to enjoy warming days under sunny skies. Friday could be sunny and 70, according to the NWS.

“High confidence that relatively benign weather will continue through Thursday or Friday,”  the NWWS said in its forecast at 3:24 a.m. Sunday.

Here is the NWS day-by-day outlook for Pasadena this week:

Today: Patchy fog before 11 a.m. Otherwise, cloudy through mid-morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 63. East northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 47. East northeast wind around 5 mph.

M.L.King Day: Mostly sunny, with a high near 65. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west southwest in the morning.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 46. West northwest wind around 5 mph becoming northeast in the evening.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 70. North northeast wind around 5 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 48.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 67.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 48.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 69.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 50.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 70.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49.
