Pasadena Unified Superintendent Dr. Brian McDonald, who was a finalist in the applicant search by Columbus, Ohio Schools for its new superintendent, did not get the job in the Buckeye State.
The Columbus City Schools Board of Education announced Tuesday it instead selected their current interim Superintendent Angela Chapman to permanently take the reins as the district’s leader.
The Columbus Dispatch reported early Wednesday that Chapman said after her selection that she was “grateful and humbled for the opportunity to serve our district as the next permanent superintendent.”
McDonald applied for the position and in a field of 31 applicants had become one of three finalists.
He has worked at Pasadena Unified since 2011 and has been Superintendent in Pasadena since 2014.
PUSD declined to comment on the matter earlier. Late last month, a source within the district told Pasadena Now that several School Board members wanted McDonald out.
