A 27-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence assault with a deadly weapon after she allegedly held a knife to the neck of her 35-year-old boyfriend during an argument Monday.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:42 a.m. in the 1700 block of El Sereno Avenue. Officers responded to a call of a couple arguing in the street and found the two individuals according to Lt. Tim Bundy
Bundy said the investigation revealed that the couple was in a dating relationship and had been arguing over relationship issues. During the argument, the woman allegedly produced a knife and held it against the man’s neck.
The knife was recovered in her pocket, Bundy said.
She was arrested by officers without incident.
The woman, identified as Denise Villatoro, was reportedly booked into the Pasadena City Jail on a charge of domestic violence assault with a deadly weapon. She is scheduled to appear in court on May 24.
Bundy said the man suffered a thin scratch on his neck from the knife, but he refused medical treatment.
The incident is still under investigation, Bundy said.
