The Mayfield Junior School Board of Trustees and Headmaster, Joseph J. Gill, have announced plans for the school to renovate and expand the on-campus Chapel commencing this summer. After thoughtful and extensive planning, Mayfield Junior School received approval from the City of Pasadena and the administration said it is thrilled for the new Chapel to come to life.

Mayfield is committed to providing the finest independent Catholic education that supports the development of boys and girls from kindergarten to eighth grade. Holy Child education is rooted in innovation and progress, and Mayfield Junior School continually works to answer the essential question: What can it do next to best support students? The school’s answer is to invest in innovative programs committed to supporting a dynamic learning environment—one that values and strengthens the spirit, the mind, and the body.

“It is a great blessing to be part of a community that equally values the academic and spiritual development of our students,” Gill commented. “Informing our students’ minds and nurturing their hearts is a focus for us.”

Mayfield’s new Chapel will serve as a focal point for the community’s spiritual life and represents a clear commitment to providing a faith-filled education model. Coupled with a comprehensive academic program, students experience meaningful faith development opportunities across all areas of campus life. From class masses, class prayers and Morning Prayer to the religion and service-learning curriculum, the spirit of Mayfield’s faith life is felt within the community each day.

New Chair of the Board of Trustees, Alison Gamble, is delighted with the school’s next campus improvement. “We consistently focus on preparing our campus and community for the vibrant Mayfield of tomorrow, and we are very excited about our future,” Gamble stated.

TSK Architects and Slater Builders, Inc. have been selected as the design firm and contractor respectively.
