Pasadena City College has been named to Value College’s Top 50 Best Community Colleges for 2021 list, the organization announced Monday.

The independent publication dedicated to education listed PCC 28th on its list, which compared about 1,400 colleges across the country, according to the Value College report.

“Pasadena City College is among Los Angeles County’s best community colleges offering more than 250 associate degrees, noncredit, and credit certificate programs,” according to the report. “More than 50% of students attend PCC on a reduced or waived tuition, and more than half are 24 years old or younger.

“Students are offered transition programs, innovative programs in engineering, technology, health science, and the arts,” the report noted, “Additionally, Pasadena City College offers a number of support services and classes in the school’s Veterans Service Center.”

Value College’s rankings are based on data from the National Center for Education Statistics’ Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System and Niche, the group said in a written statement.

“Programs are ranked according to factors including cost and student satisfaction, so students can feel certain their choice of program will have a positive impact on their career,” the statement added.
