PCC Trustee Candidate Gibson Announces More Endorsements

Dr Steve Gibson announced his campaign for Pasadena City College Board of Trustees District 3 picked up steam with new endorsements this week.

Gibson said he earned the endorsement of the Los Angeles County Democratic Party and the Democrats of Pasadena Foothills.

Gibson also reported garnering the support of numerous local leaders and PCC instructors, and he that has been endorsed by the Pasadena City College Faculty Association.

Pasadena City College Faculty Association President Mark Whitworth said, “Steve knows personally how PCC faculty positively impacts the trajectory of students’ lives. His PCC experience led to earning a doctorate in education, he recognizes the needs of students and faculty at PCC and he will advocate for what all voters want: a quality education at Pasadena City College.”

Community endorsements include Occidental College Professor Peter Dreier and POP! Board Member Ed Washatka, Pasadena City Councilmember Jess Rivas, Chair of Pasadena Human Relations Commission Brandon Lamar, and Pasadena Planning Commissioner Tim Wendler.

“I am excited and proud to be trusted by these individuals and groups who have put their faith in me,” Gibson said. “It is a challenge I hope to rise to so we can begin a new chapter for Pasadena City College.”

PCC District 3 includes Northwest Pasadena, Garfield Heights, Orange Heights, Normandie Heights, Washington Square, Olive Heights, Lincoln-Villa, southwest Altadena, and parts of Bungalow Heaven and part of the Arroyo.

Gibson lives in Altadena with his spouse, Charlotte, and his dog, Cantinflas.
