PCC’s Dr. Erika Endrijonas Named New Superintendent/President Of Santa Barbara City College

The Santa Barbara Community College District Board of Trustees announced Monday afternoon that they have selected Dr. Erika Endrijonas as the next Superintendent/President of SBCC. Dr. Endrijonas is currently the Superintendent/President of Pasadena City College.

According to a PCC spokesperson, Dr. Endrojitas has accepted the offer.

SBCC said in a press statement that Dr. Endrijonas’ employment is subject to contract negotiations. Her contract is expected to go before the SBCC Board of Trustees at their June 15 meeting.

SBCC expects Dr. Endrijonas to begin her new role on August 1 officially.

“Dr. Endrijonas brings a strong commitment to the work we do for student access and success,” said Board President Jonathan Abboud. “She has a wealth of experience as a community college president overseeing a budget of over $300 million at Pasadena City College, and she served as a dean at SBCC for nine years. She has demonstrated that she is equity and antiracism focused, transparent and collaborative.”

Dr. Endrijonas said she is excited to take on the role of Superintendent/President at Santa Barbara City College.

“It has been my goal since I left SBCC to return,” said Dr. Endrijonas. “It is where I started my community college career. I am thrilled to render service in a place I love.”

Pasadena City College Board of Trustees President Sandra Chen Lau congratulated Dr. Endrijonas in a statement to Pasadena Now.

“On behalf of the Pasadena City College Board of Trustees, I extend our congratulations to Dr. Endrijonas on her appointment as the next President of Santa Barbara City College. Dr. Endrijonas began her career in community colleges at SBCC and indicated it is where she’d love to return,” Chen Lau said. “We appreciate Dr. Endrijonas’ service to PCC in her four and half years as its President. We look forward to working with her during this transitional period.”
