Pasadena City College Student Trustee Simon Fraser has been chosen to serve as a representative to the California Community College Trustees Board. The CCCT is a policy board of the Community College League of California, and together with Chief Executive Officers of the California Community Colleges Board, sets policy for the League on community college issues.

“I’m very excited to have been chosen by my student trustee colleagues to represent them in this important policy setting role,” Fraser said. “Keeping a student voice in the discussion of how CCCs can best serve the needs of California’s students is very important, especially given the transformative times that we are in.”

The nonprofit public benefit corporation whose voluntary membership consists of the 72 local community college districts in California takes action on education policy issues before the state Board of Governors and the legislature. It also establishes and evaluates the annual education policy agenda and annual legislative program.

“I’m looking forward to working with trustee colleagues from around the state on issues facing the whole community college system in California,” Fraser said.
