Police sought one of two cars, along with its driver, that struck and killed a pedestrian as he crossed Washington Boulevard in Pasadena on Thursday evening, authorities said.
The victim, described as a 61-year-old Pasadena man, died at the scene of the collisions, which took place shortly before 6:40 p.m. at Washington Boulevard and Hudson Avenue, according to Pasadena police Lt. Anthony Burgess. His name was not yet released by coroner’s officials.
He was crossing the roadway when he was struck by a westbound car being driven by a 28-year-old man, the lieutenant said.
Witnesses indicated that following the initial impact, a white sedan also struck the victim while he was on the ground, Burgess said. The driver of that vehicle drove away without stopping to help. A further description of the hit-and-run vehicle was not available.
The driver of the first car that struck the pedestrian remained at the scene and was “very cooperative,” he said. There were no signs of impairment.
