A man was robbed at gunpoint in Pasadena Tuesday night as he walked along San Gabriel Boulevard, police said.
The crime took place just after 11 p.m. as the victim, described as a man in his 40s, was walking south on a sidewalk, Pasadena police Lt. Sean Dawkins said.
A pickup truck passed by him, made a U-turn and then came to a stop next to the victim, according to the lieutenant.
The driver exited, brandished a handgun and demanded the victim hand over his property, Dawkins said. The victim relinquished his wallet and cellphone.
Police said the robber returned to the truck and was last seen driving north along San Gabriel Boulevard.
He was described as a heavyset Latino man in his 40s with white hair and a white beard. He carried a black handgun and drove a gray, four-door, newer-model pickup.
The victim was not hurt.
