Although it’s not easy these days to keep track of what’s open and what remains closed, orange safety mesh fencing is a strong reminder that playgrounds and fitness equipment in city parks remain off-limits.

“Our parks are open, but playgrounds and fitness equipment are still closed,” said Pasadena spokesperson Lisa Derderian. “Due to COVID-19, use of play and fitness equipment in parks is not yet allowed.”

People have been removing the safety mesh and using the equipment, she said.

“Public Works crews have to continually respond to rectify the situation,” she said, noting that “using the equipment which can cause harm to them and others.”

“Thank you for helping to keep our community well by staying off of the equipment. For more information about available recreation amenities, visit cityofpasadena.net/parks-and-rec/ or call (626) 744-7311.
