Pasadena police arrested two people in connection to a murder last year.
Police arrested David Lamont Hunt-Cooks, 28, and 32-year-old Brittney Chenise Ruth, 32, both of Pomona, in connection with the October 30 murder of Martrell Eric Robinson, 21.
Police found Robinson’s body shortly before 1:30 a.m. on after responding in the 100 block of Painter Street.
Robinson was suffering from a gunshot wound and was unresponsive and pronounced deceased at the scene.
On January 11, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed one felony count of homicide on each suspect with bail set at $3,000,000 for Hunt-Cooks and $2,000,000 for Ruth.
Detectives from the Pasadena Police Department’s Robbery / Homicide Unit began an immediate follow-up investigation into this homicide. Their extensive and diligent investigation led to the identification of multiple suspects connected to a local criminal street gang.
On January 9, 2022, the Pasadena Police Department’s Robbery/ Homicide Unit executed a search warrant in the City of Pomona with the assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s Pacific Southwest Fugitive Apprehension Taskforce and arrested the suspects.
