Pasadena police responding to calls of a shooting shortly before 11 a.m. discovered an adult man in critical condition in the 100 block of Painter Street on Thursday.
According to police, the victim — described as a man in his 20s — was shot by males in a passing vehicle.
Preliminarily, it appears the victim was standing on the sidewalk in front of the property when the suspects drove up alongside and shot at the victim, striking him in the torso area.
It has been reported by witnesses the suspect vehicle may have been a grey colored sedan which was occupied by at least two suspects.
“All violence is senseless,” said Pasadena Police Chief John Perez. “And during this time our community needs to come together and stop the violence.”
Perez said so far no one has been arrested.
The victim was transported to a local area hospital in critical condition.
This is an active investigation and detectives are currently following up with leads. The motive remains unknown.
