Police on Tuesday released a sketch of a second suspect being sought in connection with a May drive-by shooting in Pasadena that left one man dead and another critically wounded.
The shooting took place shortly after 4 p.m. on May 23 in the 1500 block of North Lake Avenue. It claimed the life of 24-year-old Ray Magee Jr. of Duarte and left a 23-year-old man hospitalized with major injuries, according to Pasadena police and Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner officials.
The two victims came under fire as they were sitting in a parked car, police said at the time. At least two attackers were in a silver or gray 2017 Dodge Charger, which was last seen speeding south on Lake Avenue. It had tinted windows and the last two numbers of the license plate were “50.”
After releasing a sketch one one of the suspects earlier this month, investigators on Tuesday circulated another sketch depicting the second suspect.
Investigators suspected the violence stemmed from the resurgence of a long-running dispute between gangs in Pasadena and Duarte, police said.
Anyone with information was urged to contact Pasadena police at 626-744-4241. Tips may also be submitted anonymously to L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
