Pasadena Police have confirmed the suspects tied to the Rose Bowl theft incidents were high school recruits on an official visit to UCLA for the game against Colorado on October 28.
According to a story posted on Nov. 10 on sports website Buffs Beat, Pasadena police confirmed in a statement the high schoolers were there on a visit when they allegedly took thousands of dollars in valuables from both locker rooms.
The news was first reported on the Coach JB Show, and confirmed by Pasadena police detectives. It is not known why the recruits were not supervised at that time during the trip.
The names of the juveniles have not been revealed.
UCLA athletic and the Rose Bowl committee for statements, and both declined to comment.
At least six Colorado players had jewelry taken from their lockers during the game by the suspects. Others lost headphones and cash according to the story.
