The Pasadena police are hunting two extremely aggressive pit bulls on the loose that injured three people and almost killed a puppy earlier this week.

Courtney Gomez and her grandfather were walking her four-month-old puppy named Molly on Monday near Michillinda and Mountain View Avenues in Pasadena near Arcadia when two dogs that appeared to be pit bulls “came out of nowhere” and attacked the puppy, she told KTLA 5.

“The image I have in my head is just of her eyes bugging out of her head, and I thought that she was dead,” Gomez told the station.

“It just grabbed her by the neck and started pulling her away. I punched the dog in the face like four times trying to get it to let go,” she added.

At one point, one of the pit bulls pulled the puppy away from Gomez and started shaking the small dog, KTLA 5 reported.

“The blood was just everywhere… really, really scary,” Gomez told the news agency.

Gomez and her grandfather was helped by a couple who pulled over and pried the dog’s mouth with an umbrella, Gomez told KTLA 5.

Molly had four lacerations after the attack prompting her to undergo surgery, but is expected to be fine. Meanwhile, her grandfather and the man who tried to help suffered minor bite wounds, KTLA 5 reported.

The animal control officials were still locating the loose dogs and the authorities warned pet owners to be careful, the news agency said.
