Pasadena police officers wrote 118 tickets to drivers, bicyclists and pedestrian Friday during a one-day campaign to crack down on traffic violations that contribute to pedestrian and bicyclist injuries, officials said.
The extra enforcement took place from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. throughout the city, according to Pasadena police Lt. Max Dahlstein.
A total of 88 drivers, 19 pedestrians and 11 bicyclists received citations, he said.
“We are in an unprecedented time, but even during a pandemic, the safety of road users remains a top priority,” Dahlstein said. “We hope this operation serves as a reminder to everyone to practice safe biking, driving and walking behaviors when they are out.”
Funding for Friday’s campaign was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
