Possession of Child Pornography Suspect Arrested in South Pasadena

Published on Thursday, May 26, 2022 | 4:33 pm

South Pasadena Police Department Detectives Thursday morning arrested Brandon Wu, a 31-year-old South Pasadena man, at his home in the 1800 block of La Manzanita Street pursuant to an arrest warrant for possession of child pornography.

The arrest was the culmination of an approximate ten-month investigation of a cyber-tip and a case referral from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force – Los Angeles Region.

The extensive investigation involved the drafting and execution of multiple search warrants and forensic examinations of Wu’s electronic devices.

On Tuesday, South Pasadena Detectives presented the case for filing consideration to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office (LADA). The same day, the LADA’s Office filed one count of Possession of Child Pornography, a felony, and a warrant for Wu’s arrest was issued.

Wu is currently scheduled for arraignment in Alhambra Superior Court on May 31 at 8:30 a.m.

At this time, none of the evidence in the case suggests there are any victims from the South Pasadena community; however, the investigation is continuing.
