PWP Organizes Team to Help Pasadenans Reduce Outdoor Water Use

The Pasadena Water and Power Department has formed a Water Savers Team that will visit neighborhoods to share tips on how to save water.

Apart from virtual water conservation workshops, which could either be live or recorded, members of Water Savers will also observe to determine what could be causing water waste in a household and yard, and offer PWP customers help on irrigation checkups, conservation tips, and other valuable services.

PWP said Water Savers have reached nearly 1,400 customers in just one month of visiting residents and helping with improving their water efficiency.

“Approximately 30% of residential water use is for outdoor purposes. Customers are encouraged to check their irrigation systems, ensure sprinklers water plants and not pavements, adjust sprinkler controllers to prevent overwatering, and repair leaks as soon as possible,” PWP said of the work of Water Savers.

Once checked by Water Savers, customers can receive a free drip kit from PWP to convert sprinklers to drip irrigation and free efficient sprinkler heads to replace broken or inefficient ones.

“Look for the PWP Water Savers Team in your community – they are here to help you improve your landscape’s irrigation efficiency,” PWP said.
