Lisa Kroese, a Pasadena-based realtor who says she is committed to public service and education, has announced her candidacy for the Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) Board of Education representing District 6.
In a public letter, Kroese said her decision to run stems from her dedication to prioritizing the well-being and academic success of PUSD students. With all three of her children attending PUSD schools, Kroese brings a personal investment to her campaign, aiming to foster a supportive and nurturing environment for every child in the district.
“I’ve been actively involved in helping our district through my involvement as an executive committee member for both the PUSD PTA Council and for Don Benito’s PTA,” she said. “Our students have to come first, and that’s exactly what my campaign will focus on.”
Drawing from her background in public service and small business development, Kroese emphasizes the importance of stability and student-focused policies within the school board. In the letter, she said the PUSD school board should be focused on providing a stable and safe environment for families and students.
“I want to grow a community that nurtures the emotional, physical, and educational needs of every child,” Kroese wrote. “The mismanagement and strife that plague the School Board has to stop. If elected, I will be focused on advancing student outcomes. I promise to represent you professionally. I will minimize disruptions to a child’s educational environment, recognizing the impact of stability on academic success.”
Before moving to California, Kroese served as District Director for a U.S. senator and later as Director of Operations for the Senate of Pennsylvania, where she gained valuable experience in legislative policy and constituent service.
In 2018, the family relocated to Pasadena when her husband Steve Kroese, a flight software engineer, joined JPL’s Mars Rover team.
Today, Lisa Kroese utilizes her negotiating and marketing expertise as a Realtor and Project Manager at John Mark Real Estate. She is a Pasadena Educational Network PUSD Certified Realtor advocating for our schools and students everyday.
Kroese is an active Girl Scout volunteer and Chair of the Board for the National Estate Sales Association. Professional memberships include the Pasadena Foothills Association of Realtors, Tournament of Roses Association, Pasadena Rotary, the San Gabriel Valley Fiduciary Round Table, and the San Gabriel Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Kroese also holds leadership positions in the PUSD PTA Council and Don Benito Fundamental School’s PTA.
