A citizen’s report of a suspicious vehicle at 2 in the morning Saturday in South Pasadena led to the arrest of a suspect in an armed robbery that occurred in Oxnard, Calif. the previous day.

South Pasadena police responded within minutes to the location, in the 200 block of Grace Drive in South Pasadena.

The vehicle had been reported stolen the previous day during an armed carjacking in the City of Oxnard.

The driver, 39-year-old Nick Wilson of Santa Paula, was identified as the suspect in the carjacking and taken into custody without incident, South Pasadena police said in a statement.

Officers found a loaded shotgun in the car, they said.

Police said Wilson, who is on parole, had a warrant for his arrest for battery on a police officer and vehicle theft.

“The officers used the utmost restraint during this tense incident to bring this dangerous situation to a safe conclusion,” said Chief Brian Solinsky.

Wilson is being held at the Los Angeles County Jail pending his arraignment.
