A man charged with murdering a 16-year-old girl at a local nightclub was set to go to trial in about a year after he appeared in front of Judge Janice Claire Croft at the Pasadena Courthouse on Tuesday.

Johnl Dvon Reynolds, accused of murdering Ebony Huel of Pasadena outside of The Underground nightclub on Lincoln Avenue in 2007, is set to stand trial in the matter on August 18, 2010.

In an unrelated matter, the trial date of two men accused of the 2007 murders of Sergio Mendez and Joseph Vargas was postponed.

Miguel Sandoval and Jonathan Warren, both of Covina, are charged with murdering Mendez, 34, and Vargas, 31, on July 27, 2007, near the 1500 block of Navarro Avenue. There is also a robbery charge associated with the case, according to the facts.

The incident was apparently gang-related, according to police officers.

Both men appeared in court on Monday, only to have their appearances re-scheduled for July 22 at the Pasadena Superior Court.
