The Pasadena Child Health Foundation, a fund of the Pasadena Community Foundation, has awarded a $75,000 grant over three years to the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center to support the Center’s Water Safety Program.

The Program provides 15 fully-funded swim lessons to every 3rd-grade student in the Pasadena Unified School District, including those with special needs.

“This momentous grant further solidifies our unwavering commitment to fostering the health and well-being of children throughout the Pasadena area,” said Pasadena Child Health Foundation Program Director Jeannine Bogaard.

The Water Safety Program goes beyond traditional swim lessons by providing a comprehensive water safety curriculum and all necessary items, including swimsuits, goggles, and towels. Over the past 33 years, the program has reached an impressive number of students and has had a lasting positive impact on the local community.

Jimmy Francis, President and Executive Director of RBAC, said he was grateful to the Pasadena Community Foundation.

“Through our partnership with PCF, we will continue to empower every 3rd-grade student in PUSD with essential water safety skills,” he said.

The Pasadena Community Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of people in the greater Pasadena area. The Rose Bowl Aquatics Center is a non-profit that provides aquatic educational, competitive, and recreational programs.
