According to a statement released on Monday, by the Rose Bowl, all events have been canceled at the iconic stadium.

“In light of the guidelines issued by Governor Gavin Newsom to stop the spread of the COVID-19, the Rose Bowl Stadium will close both public and private event operations through the end of March, until further notice.

“We sincerely appreciate everyone’s cooperation, understanding and support— we will look forward to seeing you soon.”

Rose Bowl General Manager Darryl Dunn told Pasadena Now on Monday that stadium employees are still working and that they were doing everything except putting the events on.

“We’re going to meetings to see how we can we be helpful with our venue,” Dunn said. “So we’re, still engaged.”

All nonessential staff will be working from home according to Dunn.

Earlier this month Rose Bowl staff told Pasadena Now that the facility is being cleaned every two hours due to the virus.

“We do have cleaning staff on site every day,” said Meredith Thomas, director of communications earlier this month. “We’ve actually upped our cleaning within the facility to every two hours.”

Korean pop super group BTS scheduled to play three shows in the stadium in May. The Rose Bowl hosts major sold-out concerts, and widely attended UCLA football games every year.
