In a celebration of both art and alternative modes of transportation, Pasadena will hold a unique and engaging event on Saturday: a Public Art Bike Ride.
This free event, pushing off a 9:30 am at Playhouse Village Park, promises an enriching experience for art enthusiasts and cycling aficionados alike.
Organized by Day One and the Pasadena Complete Streets Coalition, the ride will serve as a guided tour, traversing past several notable artworks that comprise the City’s permanent collection.
Participants will also have the opportunity to lay eyes on the latest additions to the City’s artistic landscape – sculptures freshly installed as part of the ongoing Rotating Public Art Program.
City Cultural Affairs staff will be present throughout the ride to provide insightful commentary on the artworks and share valuable resources pertaining to the City’s Public Art Program.
Registration for the Public Art Bike Ride is open to the public and can be completed beforehand through the Pasadena Complete Streets Coalition’s website (https://www.pasadenacsc.org/events).
This event aligns with Pasadena Bike Month, a city-wide initiative conceived to promote cycling as a fun and healthy activity throughout May. Pasadena Bike Month offers a diverse range of activities for residents and visitors, encompassing group rides, social gatherings, film screenings, and guided tours.
The initiative is a collaborative effort between the City of Pasadena, Day One, and the Pasadena Complete Streets Coalition.
