Police investigated a shooting in a Pasadena neighborhood on Thursday night but ultimately found no victims, officials said.
Witnesses reported hearing gunfire about 9:10 p.m. in the area of El Sereno Avenue and Howard Street, Pasadena police Lt. Pete Hettema said.
Officers found bullet casings at the scene, but no people, homes, or vehicles that had been struck by gunfire, he said.
It was determined that a white car, possibly a Honda, containing three men had driven down the street when one of the occupants held a handgun out the window and began firing into the air, according to Hettema. The car was last seen heading north on El Sereno Avenue.
One of the people inside the vehicle wore a black hat, officials added. No further details were available.
