Shots were fired into an occupied residence in the 500 block of Ashtabula Street early Tuesday morning, police said.

At about 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, Pasadena Police Department officers received a phone report that gunshots had been fired, said PPD Lt. Bruce George in a telephone interview early Wednesday morning. Officers almost immediately responded to the residence, George said, but could not find anyone suspicious near the property.

Nearly two hours later, PPD received another telephone call regarding the incident. The homeowners reported that they had found a bullet inside of their home, George said. Officers went back to the house and found eight bullet strikes in the stucco of the property as well as 10 shell casings in front of the residence.

George said there are no suspects at this time.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Pasadena Police Department at 626-744-4501.
