Several businesses in Pasadena are on a list of potential bankruptcies, according to a chart published by Retail Dive on Monday, based on reports by Credit Risk Monitor.

Credit Risk Monitor uses its trademark FRISK Score to identify companies that are at risk of bankruptcy. The company claims FRISK has a success rate of 96 percent in capturing public company bankruptcy.

The chart showed at least 17 companies that are at risk of filing for bankruptcy within the next 12 months. A number of those companies have stores or branches in Pasadena.

Among these brands are Chico’s, J.Jill, and Designer Shoe Warehouse, or DSW, whose Pasadena branches are all at The Paseo, at 300 E. Colorado Blvd.

Mattress Firm, a bed-and-mattress store at The Shops on Lake Avenue, 455 S. Lake Ave., is also on the list, as well as Party City, a specialty store located at 3353 E. Foothill Blvd., and Rite Aid, a pharmacy retail company.

Rite Aid has branches at 1038 E. Colorado Blvd., 3745 E. Foothill Blvd., and 1421 E. Washington Blvd., in Pasadena. Another branch is located at 914 Fair Oaks Ave. in South Pasadena.
