South Pasadena Crime Statistics for the Week April 3 to 9, 2013

The Weekly Crime Summary is a list of reported auto thefts, burglaries, robberies and other activities occurring in the City of South Pasadena. An alert and well-informed citizen makes you less of a target to a criminal. Remember; call the South Pasadena Police Department to report any suspicious activity.

Residential Burglary 

• 4-3-13, 6 PM to 4-8-13, 6:30 PM, 1300 block of Meridian. Suspect(s) enters through an unlocked window and takes loss. LOSS: Liquor.
• 4-3-13, 3 PM to 6:50 PM, 100 block of Monterey. Suspect(s) enters carport area of apartment complex and takes loss. LOSS: Scooter.
• 1-25-13 to 3-25-13, 1700 block of Meridian (garage). Suspect(s) enters through an unlocked side door and takes loss. LOSS: Power tools.
• 3-16-13, 11 AM to 3-24-13, 8 PM, 1100 block of Mound. Suspect(s) enters by unknown means and takes loss. LOSS: Clothes and box of popsicles.

Auto Burglary

4-2-13, 5PM to 4-3-13, 10 AM, 1700 block of Grevelia. ’04, Ford Explorer. Suspect(s) smashes window to gain entry. LOSS: Binoculars.
• 4-2-13, 12 AM to 5 AM, 300 block of Grace. ’03, Lexus ES 300. Suspect(s) enter by unknown means. LOSS: CDs, sunglasses, vehicle registration, insurance and misc. personal papers.

Drunk in Public

4-6-13, 9:45 PM, 1600 block of Huntington. Officers respond to a person lying on the sidewalk. Officers locate suspect who is found to be intoxicated and unable to care for himself. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, Hispanic, 49 years, Los Angeles.

DUI

• 4-5-13, 12:10 AM, 1000 block of Fair Oaks, Pasadena. Officer sees suspect run from a restaurant to a parked vehicle and drive away. Officer believes suspect may have committed a crime and was fleeing, and stops vehicle. No crime is found to have occurred, but suspect is found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and has a suspended/revoked driver’s license. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, Hispanic, 25 years, Los Angeles.
• 4-4-13, 3:26 AM, Monterey/Fairview. Suspect is stopped for a traffic violation and found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Female, Hispanic, 24 years, Los Angeles.
• 4-4-13, 2:22 AM, Monterey/Fremont. Suspect is involved in a non-injury traffic collision and found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, White, 26 years, South Pasadena.

Assaults

3-22-13, 9:10 PM, 1700 block of Hanscom. Victim is babysitting nephew/nieces when suspect (ex-brother in law) enters residence. Suspect walks past victim and bumps victim. Suspect later leaves and victim calls police.

Prowling

4-2-13, 11:38 PM, 200 block of Mockingbird. Victim (female, 36 years) is in bathroom and looks outside the partially opened window. Victim sees suspect staring through same window looking at her. Victim yells and suspect leaves. SUSPECT DESCRIPTION: Unknown male.

False Info to Police Officer

4-3-13, 1:39 AM, 800 block of Stoney (Arroyo Park). Officers contact suspect who is sitting in a parked vehicle at a park during closed hours. Suspect provides false name to officers. Suspect’s true identity if discovered and suspect is found to be a juvenile out during nighttime curfew hours. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Female, Juvenile.

Theft

• 4-8-13, 7:53 AM, 1900 block of Fremont (Almansor Center). Suspect(s) takes unattended loss from classroom. LOSS: Galaxy Tablet.
• 3-25-13, 7:25 AM to 3-26-13, 7:25 AM, 1600 block of Via Del Rey. Suspect(s) takes loss from victim’s unlocked rear camper. LOSS: Tools.
• 3-18-13, 2:32 to 3:45 PM, 1700 block of Oxley. Suspect(s) takes loss from victim’s front porch. LOSS: Parcel package.

Identity Theft/Credit Card/Check Fraud

• January 2013 to 4-8-13, 1000 block of Mission (Videoteque). Suspect(s) uses victim’s membership card to rent videos.
• 4-2-13 to 4-6-13, 1400 block of Milan. Suspect(s) forges a check with victim’s personal information and cashes three checks.
• 3-29-13 to 4-1-13, 1800 block of Spruce. Suspect(s) gains access to victim’s debit card account and makes an unauthorized purchase.
• 3-13-13 to 4-8-13, 200 block of Monterey. Suspect(s) uses victim’s personal information to open two credit card accounts.

Vandalism

4-5-13, 4 AM to 4-6-13, 5:39 AM, 800 block of Mission (Cordial Cleaners). Suspect(s) smashes glass door.

For graffiti removal, call the City of South Pasadena “Graffiti Removal Hotline” at (626) 403-7249. This is a 24-hour a day recording. A written release is required prior to removal from private property.
