State Sen. Bob Archuleta Endorses Priscilla Hernandez for Pasadena Board of Education

Priscilla Hernandez announced Tuesday that she has secured the endorsement of State Sen. Bob Archuleta, (D-Norwalk) in her bid to win a seat on the Pasadena Unified School District Board of Education.

Hernandez is running for PUSD’s District 6 seat, along with Milena Albert, Tina Wu Fredericks, and Crystal Czubernat.

“I am so proud to endorse Priscilla Hernandez for the Pasadena School Board,” Archuleta said in a written statement. “She has always put children first in her commitment to serving the community and youth. Her leadership qualities and participation in the business of education will serve as an asset and make a real difference for the future success of Pasadena schools.”

Archuleta added that he has known Hernandez and her family for “many years.”

“She comes from a proud tradition of service. Her father is a highly decorated veteran and recipient of the Silver Star. Priscilla is a distinguished community leader in her own right,” Archuleta wrote. “I urge you to vote and support Priscilla Hernandez in this critical time in the future of our children.”

Hernandez said she was grateful for the endorsement.

“I am truly honored to earn the support of such a respected leader as Sen. Archuleta,” she said. “Our schools are facing serious challenges and we need a school board trustee who will put the interests of our children first.”

“The children and residents of Pasadena deserve quality and competitive schools. As our new school board trustee, I’ll insist on greater accountability and improved academic performance from our School District.”

Board of Education positions in Districts 2 and 4 are also up for election on Nov. 3, along with the position of Pasadena mayor.
