Pasadena ranked as the second most creative mid-size city in the U.S., according to a major real estate research blog.
Movoto Blog based its study on five main factors: art stories and galleries in the area, music stores and instructors, bookstores nearby, proximity to colleges and universities and number of nearby theaters.
“Best known for its rose-covered New Year’s floats, which are works of art in their own right, Pasadena has a high number of art schools per capita,” the research firm posted on its blog.
Salt Lake City, UT bested the list, while Richmond, VA ranked 3rd; Dayton, OH, 4th; and Torrance, CA, 5th.
Fort Collins, CO placed sixth in the rankings; followed by Columbia, SC (7th); Eugene, OR (8th); Knoxville, TN (9th); and Tempe, AZ (10th).
Pasadena scored the highest on four ranking factors: music stores, art schools, book stores and performing arts, but dropped to the 11th place when it comes to proximity to colleges and universities.
