At the end of a roughly, nine-hour standoff, police negotiators were able to talk a suicidal man down from the Colorado Street Bridge Wednesday night.
The unidentified man was talked off his perch about 7 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
During that time, firefighters set up a rescue cushion under the bridge – had the man decided to jump, said fire department spokesperson Lisa Derderian.
Police said a passerby reported a man sitting on the edge of the bridge just after 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, prompting public safety officials to close off the area.
