An 18-year-old local man was arrested Tuesday morning after allegedly crashing into a parked car while under the influence and carrying a concealed weapon, according to police.
Pasadena Police Lt. Christopher Kirby reported the man’s car collided with a parked vehicle in the 2400 block of Monte Vista Street at approximately 7:26 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers found the driver, later identified as David Torres of Pasadena, allegedly showing symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Kirby said that during a search prior to field sobriety tests, police discovered a loaded Smith & Wesson .45 caliber handgun concealed in Torres’ waistband.
Torres was the sole occupant of the vehicle and no injuries were reported.
He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and weapons-related charges, said Kirby.
