“Some parents have asked why it goes to 4 pm as lots of camps go to 3 pm. We have an extra hour worked in because we are going to teach mental aspects of the game as well as use video to engage and analyze various skills and strategies.”
These words by Caltech Coach “Doc” Eslinger says it all. Unlike other basketball camps where students are taught the basics and nothing more, Doc’s Basketball Academy tackles everything to help players excel.
Or as Eslinger puts it, “Added benefits to our philosophy.”
Doc’s Basketball Academy will be held at Caltech’s Braun & Brown Gyms and is open for boys in 4th to 8th grades. The camp will be a 5-day week from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the first session to be held from June 17 to 21, while the second session will be from June 24 to 28.
“There is more and more interest every day and lots of spots are still available,” says Eslinger.
However, with June just around the corner, those spots will fill up rather quickly.
There’s also Doc’s Elite Academy for high school students which will be held in June.
“Registration for our Elite Academy has been a huge success. In only it’s first year we are getting lots of high schoolers to sign up, says Eslinger.
