The Junior League of Pasadena Holds 3rd Annual Sustainer Reunion

On Wednesday, September 26 the Junior League of Pasadena, Inc. (JLP) held their 3rd Annual Sustainer Reunion at Everson Royce Wines in Old Town Pasadena. More than thirty sustainers, actives and friends of the JLP enjoyed an evening of gourmet cheese and wine tasting, while catching up with old friends and meeting new members of the League.

With its long-standing history, spanning now more than 85 years as an organization improving the communities of Pasadena and developing the potential of women, the sustainer reunions have given members who may have joined the League more than 40 years ago the opportunity to reconnect with fellow provisional class members and the opportunity to share their volunteer and leadership experiences with current League provisionals.

“When you ask Junior League members why they joined the League, the most common answer is twofold — to make new friends, and make a difference in our community,” stated Sustaining Member, Kerry Slater and Sustainer Reunion event organizer. “The sustainer reunion shows how deeply friendships have taken root for many of us in the JLP. I feel incredibly lucky to have made such good friends in the JLP. In fact, several of the women who attended the reunion are in a book club with me that we started more than 10 years ago as provisionals – it’s become and still is the favorite night of the month for each of us!”
