Monday, January 11

At the Pasadena Courthouse, at  8:30 a.m., a preliminary hearing date is scheduled to be set for Robert Anthony Camou, a Monrovia man charged with capital murder involving his girlfriend’s disappearance. He had been charged earlier with assault and domestic violence. The hearing is at Department C.

At 8:30 a.m.,a pretrial hearing is scheduled for Jose Antonio Santiago, who is charged with fatally stabbing one man and injuring another man in Pasadena. This one is at Department B.

Also at 8:30 a.m.,  a preliminary hearing date is scheduled to be set for Alberto Fernandez, who is charged in an alleged hit-and-run crash in Pasadena that killed a 64-year-old man. This is at Department D.

At the Alhambra Courthouse at 8:30 a.m., a pretrial hearing is scheduled for Armando Hernandez, who is charged in the shooting death of a man in Pasadena. This will be at Department T of the Courthouse located at 150 W. Commonwealth Ave.

At 1:30 p.m., a panel of the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in Pasadena will hear arguments in Chansue Kang vs. P.F. Chang’s China Bistro. The appeal stems from a Los Angeles federal judge’s dismissal of a lawsuit in which the plaintiff alleged that crab ordered at P.F. Chang’s in Torrance was fraudulently misrepresented as real. The hearing is at Courtroom 3 of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, 125 S. Grand Ave.

Tuesday, January 12

At 8:30 a.m., a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Lamarr Marquise McDaniels II and Trevor Dorman, who are accused of killing a man in Pasadena in a drug deal gone bad. This is at Department J of the Pasadena Courthouse.

Also at 8:30 a.m., a pretrial hearing is scheduled for Hongxin Liu, who is charged with killing his pregnant wife. Jurors deadlocked in his first two trials. The hearing is at Department C.

Wednesday, January 13

The U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals will hear arguments in Janet Garcia v. City of Los Angeles, at 1 p.m. The appeal arises  from the district court’s order preliminarily stopping the city from enforcing a municipal code which prohibits any person from storing bulky items in public areas. The hearing is at Courtroom 3.

Friday, January 15

At 8:30 a.m., at the Civic Center in Los Angeles, sentencing is scheduled for Isaiah Jack Daniels, who was convicted in connection with a series of shootings that occurred in Pasadena between December 2016 and January 2017 as a result of a gang feud. Co-defendants Charod Robinson,

Pernell Barnes and Derion Davon Lee have earlier been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. The sentencing hearing is at Department 105 of the Criminal Courts Building, at 210 W. Temple Street.

At the Pasadena Courthouse at 8:30 a.m., a pretrial hearing is scheduled for Daniel Cervantes, who is charged in the shooting death of a 22-year-old man whose body was found near Angeles Crest Highway in the Pasadena area in November 2019. The hearing will be at Department F.

The Pasadena Courthouse is at 300 E. Walnut Street.
